We had a wonderful workshop day at Aylsham & District Care Trust at the end of November. Project staff Alanna Baker and Andrew Tullett attended this fabulous venue to spend the day with their Dementia groups exploring Marriott's Way nature and railway heritage through conversation, craft and handling objects.
Sharing memories of train rides to boarding school, evacuations by rail and line-side crop fires we had a inspiring and intriguing day with the groups. Thank you to ACT team, the volunteers and their wonderful community for all your chatter and enthusiasm.
Our team of Trails staff at County Hall have been busy working on the beautiful new railway crossing-style gateway design and construction. These will be featured accompanied by trellis fencing at all major crossing points along the route. This will pay homage to the locomotive heritage as well as provide safety and visibility for trail users. These distinct wooden gates are now ready for production and will be arriving along the route in the New Year to accompany those already installed at Norwich City Station location and the original and renovated ones gracing Lenwade level crossing thanks to volunteers teams at Whitwell & Reepham station.
