Britain's railways and its war effort were inextricably linked during WW1, and many locations along Marriott's Way have fascinating stories to tell about the experience of The Great War. Using the Voluntary Aid Detachment and the Red Cross hospitals that dotted Norfolk as a starting point, pupils will explore the local and global impacts of conflict. This can also include in-school preparatory or follow-up work, particularly using plentiful online resources to further explore the topic.
